Swifts: Where the Sky Meets the Street

Welcome to Creative Connections — connecting the creative, creatively connecting everything else. Today we’re looking up, quite literally, at one of Britain’s most remarkable summer visitors: the swift. You may hear them before you properly see them — that high, urgent call above the rooftops, and then a dark crescent flicking through the sky. The thing I want to understand is this: are swifts really birds that spend almost their whole lives in the air?
